1978On Jan 1, Mr Stanley Chu, Chairman of the Adsale Group established "Adsale People Ltd" with his friends, aiming at promoting China trade. The group offered media representation, translation, printing and direct mailing services. In the same year, Adsale's first industrial magazine, TECHNONOVA, was published, with free circulation to industry users and readers in China.

1980Adsale staged International Exhibition on Tools and Machine Tools in Guangzhou, one of the first commercial exhibitions in China after China's open door policy in 1978.In the same year, Adsale published the first edition of the China Trade Handbook and acted as the exclusive advertising representative of Wall Street Journal (WSJ) of US in China. 3 China supplements were organized in WSJ to introduce China's enterprises and their products. Other than WSJ, Adsale also acted as advertising representative of the Financial Times of London, Handelsblatt of Germany, Nihon Keizei Shimbun of Japan, etc. for the China market between 1979-89.

1981International Exhibition on Packaging Machinery and Materials was held in Guangzhou with over 100 exhibitors and a few country pavilions.

1982China Plastic and Rubber Journal (CPRJ) was launched.

1983The first edition of Chinaplas was held in Beijing. The show is now the largest plastics and rubber show in Asia with over 210,000 sqm gross in Shanghai in 2012. In 1983, the first issue of China Textile and Apparel Journal (CTA) was published.

1984The first edition of ShanghaiTex was held in Shanghai and it reached 92,000 sqm gross in Shanghai in 2011. The 2nd edition of the China Trade Handbook and the Directory of Companies in China Trade, etc. were published.

1987Adsale organized Telecomp China and received the sponsorship from the European Union (EU). Adsale was the first organizer in Asia having the EU sponsorship for its event.Moreover, for the first time, Chinaplas earned EUROMAP's support as the exclusive sponsor in China's plastics and rubber show.

1989Adsale is the only overseas organizer who maintained a full program of exhibitions in China between 1989 to 1991, when the China market was in relative doldrums.

1990Adsale co-organized the first Vietnam International Trade Fair in Hanoi. The English journal, namely Journal for Asia on Textile and Apparel (ATA), was launched and its circulation is audited by Audit Bureau of Circulation.

1992Adsale organized the first edition of Vietnam Telecomp. Due to the shortage of space in Vietnam at that time, Adsale invested over USD2 million in 1994 in the construction of Kasati Exhibition Centre in Ho Chi Minh City, providing 6,300 sqm of exhibition space.

1994Adsale received the Best Overseas Organizer Award presented by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Head Office

2000To meet the general trend of e-commerce, Adsale.com Limited was established to provide an e-commerce platform for the connection of both buyers and sellers. In the same year, to consolidate the systematic management and project organization, Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd attained ISO 9002 quality management certification and became the first exhibition organizer in Asia Pacific region to obtain this international certification.

2001Adsale launched "Adsale Industry Portal" - www.2456.com and hosted 5 industry portals, covering automotive, textile, packaging, plastics and rubber and machine tools, to provide trade professionals with the latest market, technology and trade shows updates.

2002Mr. Stanley Chu started to serve as the Chairman of Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Industry Association (HKECIA).

2003Mr. Stanley Chu was being elected as one of the 10 most outstanding personnel in the China's exhibition industry. He was re-elected again in 2005 and 2007 for his contribution to the industry.

2006Adsale becomes a UFI member and 7 of its exhibitions received UFI endorsement.Adsale's joint venture company, Jiangsu New International Convention & Exhibition Group Co Ltd was set up.

2009Adsale's Industry Content Website www.2456.com was converted into four focused e-magazine portals namely www.adsaleCPRJ.com (Plastics bilingual), www.adsaleCTA.com (Textile Chinese), www.adsaleATA.com (Textile English) and www.adsaleCMJ.com (Machine-Building bilingual). Four portals provide B2B interactive platform to 896,000 manufacturing industry readers and global suppliers.
China Plastic & Rubber Journal International (CPRJ International), an English magazine for global buyers of plastics technologies, was launched.
Mr Stanley Chu was appointed as the First Vice Chairman, UFI Asia/Pacific Chapter in the same year. -
2010Mr Stanley Chu was appointed as the Honorary Life President of Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Industry Association (HKECIA).

2011CHINAPLAS has been recognized as world's No.2 plastics and rubber show. The installation art, namely Alive Bottle Tree, made by 3,528 recycled bottles was awarded as the new Guinness World Records for "Largest Plastics bottle sculpture" which delivered the green concept to the community successfully.
"Adsale Pub" mobile App was launched. It brought Adsale publications' content to readers globally by mobile marketing.In the same year, Mr Stanley Chu was appointed as the Chairman of the Asia Pacific Chapter of UFI. With valuable contribution to the society and the University of Hong Kong, Mr Chu (second from the left) received an Honorary University Fellowship from The University of Hong Kong. -
2012To establish closer ties between high-level end users and suppliers, the Publishing Division started collaboration with leading automotive manufacturers in organizing conference and showcase for plastics applications of the automotive industry. Other conference topics were developed in the following years including packaging, electrical appliances / 3C electronics and new materials.

2013Adsale's staff training program with the theme of "Managing and Leading Change" won 2013 UFI Education Award organized by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI).

2018Adsale celebrated her 40th anniversary.CHINAPLAS moved to the new show venue, the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC), Shanghai, PR China. CHINAPLAS 2018 set new records in terms of visitor count, no. of exhibitors and exhibition space.

2021To accommodate the need of scale expansion, CHINAPLAS moves to Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center, one of the world's largest exhibition and convention centers, in odd year.

2022To cope with the digital era, Adsale launched numerous online engagement activities, such as webinars, online business matching, Factory iVisit, etc. Adsale’s flagship exhibition, CHINAPLAS firstly organized a virtual show among world-class plastics & rubber exhibitions, with over 200,000 visitors from the global industries.
