Since millions of garments and hundreds millions tones of greenhouse gases are
produced during the textile manufacturing process every year, green textiles
have been widely recognized by the consumers in recent years. Some
international brands such as PUMA have already implemented green textiles in
their businesses, PUMA also targets to use 90% sustainable cotton and polyester
fibers by 2020.
In response to the emergence of sustainable
manufacturing practices, The 19th International Exhibition on Textile Industry
(ShanghaiTex 2019) will be grandly held on 25-28 November 2019 at Shanghai New
International Expo Centre. It is expected to gather more than 1,200 exhibitors
to showcase a range of intelligent textile machinery and innovative
eco-friendly materials, helping the enterprises to expand their businesses and
drive towards "Sustainable Fashion".
Highlighted green exhibits include Green
Technologies of Printing, Dyeing and Finishing, Digital Printing Machinery and
Renewable Materials, etc.
Three "green"
concurrent events
The environmental impacts of textile manufacturing
industry have all along been a global concern. The textile enterprises,
especially from the printing and dyeing industry must take action quickly to
resolve the pressing problems, or they will further aggravate the pressures on
ecosystems and become an invisible earth "killer".
Other than exhibition, a series of environmental
sustainability related conferences will be organized during ShanghaiTex 2019 to
address the issues arising from high energy and water consumption in the
textile and fashion industries, such as how to use green technologies for denim
finishing.
Concurrent Events of "Green" are as
follows:
- The World of Greener Denim
- Digital Printing - Fashion & Home
- Textile Sustainability Conference
