The Spring Edition of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel
Fabrics was successfully held from March 12 to 14 at the National Exhibition
and Convention Centre (Shanghai) in Shanghai, China.
Exhibitors and visitors alike were benefited from
product zones with clear themes, from high-end wool to original designs, as the
one-stop locations aimed to make it easy for visitors to locate more potential
business partners.
This year, back-to-back visitor increase of 15% has
solidified Intertextile Apparel’s status as a global apparel textile flagship. A
total of 94,661 visitors from over 110 countries & regions attended the
fair. Aisles in six exhibition halls saw a sea of visitors, as the quality,
variety and innovation of the textile options on offer impressed trade buyers
from all over the world.
The show housed 3,273 exhibitors from 23 countries
and regions over six halls. This included an increase of 12% in overseas
exhibitors.
New
exhibitors added for more comprehensive product range
The Milano Unica Pavilion, which featured
high-quality Italian exhibitors, has also increased in size and included a new
exhibitor, Tessitura Marco Pastorelli. Meanwhile, outside of the pavilion,
another new Italian exhibitor Ibieffe presented cotton fabrics.
This year also included more suppliers at the
larger Turkey Zone, with new exhibitors including: Bunyem, displaying jacquard
and plain fabrics for ladieswear; Kotonteks and their fancy woven fabrics for
ladieswear; Ramnur offering jacquard and brocade; and Unlu Transfer presenting their digital printed, coated, foiled and embossed fabrics.
High-quality European suppliers on offer
For
those seeking more European exhibitors, SalonEurope continued to bring the high-qualityEuropean textile
industry to China. Countries included Austria, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Turkey
and the UK.
The
Premium Wool Zone was regarded by domestic buyers as an ideal place to source high-end wool
textiles – a product category with high demand, as China’s high-end tailoring
market continues to thrive. Highly-regarded European brands Huddersfield & Cloth, Abraham Moon &
Sons, and Stylbiella returned to Shanghai to access the China market for another year.
As well as offering access to the global textile
market, the fair also provided industry insight at the fringe programme, which
included three panel discussions and 25 seminars.

At the same time, Intertextile Shanghai Home
Textiles – Spring Edition, one of the concurrent shows, attracted 25% more exhibitors and 6.8% more visitors,
proving once again to be an effective occasion to capture business during
China’s peak sourcing season for home textiles finished products.
One of the highlights of the three-day fair included the extensive finished products presented by around 290 domestic and
international suppliers. Some of the participating brands included Bambi
Enterprises & Jaspa Herington from Australia, Mistral Home NV from Belgium,
Shanghai Shuixing Home Textile, Sunvim Group and Yantai Pacific Home Fashion.
Domestic regional pavilions were another highlight
at the fair. Chinese companies from the same region showcased their specialised
products in pavilions. These exhibitors were from Cixi, Gaoyang, Haimen, Huzhou,
Pujiang, Tongxiang Zhouquan, Tongzhou and Zhenze, with bedding products,
towels, quilts, cotton slippers, silk and silk blended products on offer.
This year, the organizer established a brand new
T-Mall Home Textile Zone. This leading online shopping platform has invited
domestic big names including Luolai, Lovo and Taihuxuezy to present their
quality home products.
In addition, a series of seminars covering topics
from market trends, product applications, latest technology and material
developments were held. The fair also featured Intangible Cultural Heritage of
Home Textiles ad Handicraft Display Area and the Towelling Display Area,
offering more insights to visitors.
