Today, the textile machinery industry is embracing the global trend of wise resources management. Some Italian dyeing and finishing manufacturers at ITMA ASIA + CITME 2018 presented the progress made toward the goal of high-quality production with minimal resource consumption and lower environmental impact.

Biancalani promises high quality production

Mr. Rossano Biancalani, President of Biancalani.At the booth, the key novelty of the textile finishing machinery maker Biancalani this year was the versatile AIRO 24 continuous open-width tumbler.

Mr. Rossano Biancalani, President of Biancalani, pointed out that quality has become one of the main concerns of the Chinese customers. “In the past, the Chinese did not manufacture the machines, but now they are, and they are also improving their quality. That’s why we not only focus on the quantity, but also the quality of our products.”

Capable of working 24 hours a day for finishing of woven, nonwoven and knitted fabrics, the AIRO 24 continuous open-width tumbler provides productivity, low production costs and a more environmentally friendly production.

Since its launch in 2005, the AIRO 24 allows users to reduce the use of softener to achieve a good hand-feel with the machine, hence protecting the environment.

“For example, it is now possible to use dyeing machines with a lower liquor ratio, a reduction of chemical softener applied, and proceed with an intensive squeezing in order to eliminate the excess of water in an efficient way before drying, without affecting the quality of the product,” explained Biancalani.

In addition, the machine is equipped with a new system especially suitable for treating terry towel. With the patented Smart-Switch technology, a device which intelligently controls and optimizes the change of direction of air and fabric, the machine can modulate the intensity of the mechanical action independently from the drying power.

From lightweight materials to heavier ones made of delicate yarn, every type of fabric will benefit from the technology, with a considerable increase in the drying capacity.

“Intelligent control is another key feature of the machine, improving the overall efficiency of the production,” he remarked. The 12.1" touch screen with a newly designed user interface, together with an auxiliary touch display at fabric exit, allows easy and complete control of the machine. In addition, all the usage statistics and real-time data can be visualized and managed either on the machine or from a remote computer connected on the network.

The company has a strong presence all over the world. “Our machines are exported to China, India, Turkey, Europe and South America. Among them, China and India are both noteworthy markets for us. With our seven sister companies in Mumbai, we are further expanding our presence in India,” he said.

“We stay ahead of competitors with our rich experience, constant presence in the textile market and full services for the customers,” he concluded.  

Corino: Chinese customers desire high tech machinery

Mr Fabio Melis, Area Sales Manager of Corino Macchine S.p.A. Corino Macchine S.p.A., a provider specialized in textile dyeing and finishing sectors, brought its automatic weft straightener "Super-N" to the show.

According to Mr Fabio Melis, Area Sales Manager of Corino Macchine S.p.A., high technology machinery is popular among the Chinese market. “The Chinese market has been suffering from the higher labor and energy costs in the recent years. In view of this, the market is moving forward to the direction of high technology and more automation.”

The model on display at the show was an advanced version of all-automated weft straightener for all woven fabrics, capable of correcting all types of distortions, diagonal, curved, sinusoidal and asymmetric.

Thanks to a simple but effective physical principle, the weft yarns are brought back to their original position by tensioning them transversally after the fabric selvedges have been pinned on the circumference of two big wheels.

Its mechanical way of working makes it an efficient weft straightener for woven fabric because the distortions removal is not influenced by the limits of the optical weft straighteners.

According to the company, the machine has received the ACIMIT (the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers) green label, demonstrating its energy-saving performance. It can work with minimum consumption of compressed air, even if the working system is based on pneumatic.

“It is indeed a user-friendly, low maintenance and highly reliable machine. The over 1,100 units already sold worldwide in more than 40 countries testify the success of ‘Super-N’,” he stated.

“Super-N” is part of a family of pin wheels weft straighteners, of which three more models form part: "N-Max" combines the pin wheels system with the optical one; “Jumbo-N” is for wide fabric width; and "Little-N" is a compact version for installations in very small workplaces.

“In terms of the market development, Asia is the biggest market in the world while Bangladesh is the largest market for us,” he commented. “In my opinion, compare with a few years ago, the Chinese textile market is experiencing some pressures due to the competitive market environment, whereas there is still a huge market demand in the country,” he further commented.

The company was satisfied with its sales performance over the past year. “In 2017, we had a recorded global turnover of $16 million, up about 10% compare to the previous year. This year, we expected around 5% growth of the turnover,” he said. 

Loris Bellini aims to guarantee a greener future

Mr Luca Formentini, Loris Bellini.At the booth of Loris Bellini, the PULSAR yarn dyeing machine was the main protagonist which attracted the attention of the numerous visitors during five days of the show.

Mr Luca Formentini at Loris Bellini told CTA that sustainability has come into the limelight in the textile market. “Sustainability is one of the most significant trends in China now. Customers are looking for solutions that substantially reduce their resource consumption. It is not only a matter of cost, but a matter of the environment.”

The innovative PULSAR yarn dyeing machine provides numerous environmental-friendly benefits to the customers. The electric load for main circulation pump is 70% lower, compare to that of installed on an ordinary machine. Furthermore, the average consumption of chemicals, steam and compressed air is directly proportional with a reduction from 20% to 30%.

In addition, the machine is working at a liquor ratio as low as 1:3.8. “Wastewater treatment requires very high running cost. The less water you used, the less wastewater treatment you will need in the production,” noted Luca Formentini.

“With lower resource consumption, our PULSAR dyeing machine is fully compliant with the carbon footprint and water saving regulations that most of the countries worldwide are imposing to guarantee a greener tomorrow for our future generations,” he remarked.

Commenting on the market development, he revealed, “I would say China is the most important market for us, without any doubt. It is followed by India, Pakistan and Turkey. We have also made our presence in South America and Europe.”

“Many European manufacturers have moved their factories to the East, leading to a very tough market competition, especially in China. We differentiate ourselves from our competitors with our nearly 70-year of professional experience in this area and our ‘Made in Italy’ products which are highly recognized by the Chinese customers,” he added.

He was very optimistic about the outlook of the global textile market. “In the past year, the overall situation was very stable with slight growth. I can see that the market is growing, especially in China and India.”

Other highlights of exhibits

Bianco

Manufacturer of textile finishing machines and accessories Bianco S.p.A. presented its Happy Scour Tank at the exhibition. The patented product is developed for the removal of weaving oils in open fabric as in-line preparation for heat setting or drying with low consumption and costs.

The main advantage of Happy Scour Tank is that it allows continuous in-line preparation, which does not affect the quality of fabric surface as traditional oil removing systems do due to their non-continuous process.

By exploiting the mechanical action of the spray nozzles, the water temperature and the eco-friendly chemical treatment, it guarantees the necessary uniform removal of oils in fabrics with optimal relaxation of fibers to obtain a good hand feel.

Given the versatility of the machine, it is also possible, on configuration, to fully prepare synthetic fabrics in-line for printing.

Carù

At the booth, Macchine Carù S.r.l. introduced its new version of sueding machine Easy-Supreme Touch 6.2 with innovative features.

The new machine can use abrasive brushes and diamond emery in combination. With the machine, up to 6+2 combinations of sueding rollers and brushes can be used. Additional two brushes or two sueding rollers can be installed as optional for a total of eight sets.

The machine is characterized by its high sueding efficency due to the considerable number of contact points. Three approaching units independently adjustable, set the distance between fabric and brushes (or sueding rollers). The seam passage, which follows an automatic progressive sequence, stops the brushes to let the seam pass without damage it.

In addition, the machine can be programmed according to the kind of fabric processed. Fabric stretching is controlled by load cells and obtained by the means of two distinct motorized rollers drived by inverters.
